About Us

P.E.O. is a philanthropic educational organization for women built upon service and philanthropy as an outgrowth of its social bonds of love and friendship.

The Marguerite Fund

The Colorado Marguerite Fund was established in June 1923 to provide aid to Colorado women who need temporary assistance. The fund was established to aid any member of non-member who needs assistance.  The needs of each recipient are as individual as the recipients themselves. Requests for assistance are made through a Colorado P.E.O. sponsor to the chair of the Marguerite Fund Trustees. Recipients must be over the age of 18 and a Colorado resident. Names of recipients are never disclosed.

Colorado P.E.O. Chapter House

When the Colorado P.E.O. Chapter House was sold in late 2021, the CPCC Board of Directors decided to appoint an ad hoc committee to research and develop a potential new Chapter House Project. The committee of seven members met throughout the summer and early fall of 2022. The name pays homage to the long-standing Chapter House which operated for fifty-five years.

  • The project name will be Colorado P.E.O. Chapter House Project.
  • The mission of the Colorado P.E.O. Chapter House project is to provide financial assistance for housing to enhance the lives and living conditions of Colorado women.
  • The purpose of the gift will focus on housing and will cover minor repairs, accessibility modifications, and mortgage or rent.
  • The amount of the gift will vary depending on the funds available. There will be a lifetime maximum.

As with any construction project, prior to the grand opening, there’s still work to do. The CPCC Board of Directors and the Chapter House Project Trustees are engaged in completing “interior work” such as the application process, and the distribution schedule. We anticipate that the CPCC Board will be in charge of the funds for the project, and the CHP trustees will receive applications and award gifts.

The final approval of this new endeavor will occur at the CPCC Annual Meeting in conjunction with the 2023 Colorado State Convention. That’s when proposed amendments to the CPCC Bylaws will be voted upon.

For more information, visit the Chapter House website or contact members of the Chapter House Board of Trustees.

Colorado Cottey Scholarship Fund

The Colorado Cottey Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to first- and second-year students from Colorado. Gifts from chapters and individuals are the basis of these annual awards. In addition, two special awards are made: $1000 from the Virginia Corbett Scholarship to a second-year student and a $1000 award in honor of a past state president of the Colorado State Chapter to a first-year student.

Colorado State Scholarship Fund

The Colorado State Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 for Colorado women, with preference given to non-traditional or vocational areas of study. Scholarships are given annually and are a minimum of $1000 each. The total number of scholarships given will be dependent on gifts to the scholarship.
